Michele McLeod
Michele has been a proud Stone resident since she was nine and knows the town like the back of her hand. She’s run her salon for over three decades and also helps plan events at St. Dominic’s venue. Her big idea for the Carnival? Fun activities for kids that help them build confidence and have a great time. Michele is also a Stoke City superfan – and when she’s not cheering them on, she’s cheering for the community she loves.
Nicola Harris
Nicola has lived in Stone all her life – and she’s not just part of the community, she’s a cornerstone of it. As co-owner of Stone Carpet and Flooring, she’s been involved in the Stone Festival and Carnival since the 1970s. A self-proclaimed Treasure Hunt pro (with multiple wins to back it up!), Nicola’s passion for local events is infectious. She’s thrilled to keep the Carnival spirit alive and kicking for 2027.
Alex Heaton
Alex has called Stone home for the past seven years, where he runs a classic car repair business. He caught the Carnival bug after taking part in the 2022 parade, which he says was a blast. Alex is all about making the Carnival bigger, better, and even more exciting for everyone in the town. He’s looking forward to bringing his enthusiasm to the team and seeing Stone shine on Carnival Day.
Tim Joyce
Tim has been part of the Stone Carnival team since 2006, and he’s pretty much seen it all – from organizing the Raft Race to designing the layout for Westbridge Park. As a member of Stone Rotary Club, he’s the go-to guy for recruiting volunteers and keeping everything running smoothly. When he’s not juggling posters, layouts, and Two-Wheel Tuesday, Tim’s busy dreaming up new ways to make Carnival Day even more fun for everyone.
Martin Robinson
Martin spent 26 years running a retail business in Stone with his wife, raising their two sons and now enjoying life as a granddad to five. These days, he’s keeping busy as the official photographer for the 2026 Carnival and lending a hand to local charities. If that’s not enough, Martin is also a Trustee and Treasurer for Stone Common Plot, a Trustee for Oulton Village Hall, and the Horticultural Lead for Oulton Community Group. He’s a familiar face in the community and loves making Stone an even better place to live.
Melanie Houstan
Melanie has been back and forth to Stone her whole life as her family are based here. She returned to live here permanently since 2009 after working on cruise ships. She has been a passionate supporter of the Carnival Treasure Hunt for many years and would regularly take part with her Aunts. She is co-owner of Stone Carpet and Flooring, which has allowed her to get to know the local community. She is excited to be part of the team bringing the event back to life.
